It's no longer a surprise that the British singer-songwriter PinkPantheress collaborated with legendary producer MJ Cole to release a fresh remix of his seminal 1998 UK garage track “Sincere.” The new remix, titled “Still Sincere,” is the updated version that placed PinkPantheress’s ethereal vocals front and centre, allowing her to bring a modern voice to one of UK garage’s most beloved songs.

Still Sincere sees PinkPantheress replacing the original’s chopped and looped samples with her own singing. The song, released today via 892 Recordings/Platoon, was noted by PinkPantheress as “surreal.” She emphasized that working with MJ Cole was especially meaningful given how much his legacy influenced her early work.

MJ Cole’s “Sincere” originally debuted in 1998 and is widely regarded as one of the defining tracks of the UK garage era that combined lush melodic textures with the genre’s signature two-step rhythms. The song climbed to No. 13 on the U.K. Singles Chart after a re-release in 2000 and has remained a staple in DJ mixes and club sets ever since.

Over the years, Sincere has become a litmus test for garage’s emotional depth and regularly appears on lists of top UK garage records.

The UK Garage Revival

This remix arrives amid resurgence of interest in UK garage among younger artists and audiences. Over the past few years, the genre’s bouncy beats and soulful harmonies have enjoyed renewed popularity, both in clubs and on streaming platforms, as musicians like PinkPantheress draw inspiration from the sound’s past while updating it for new listeners.

As seen in earlier work that sampled classic tracks, PinkPantheress herself has built much of her sound around nostalgic nods to early-2000s garage influences and this collaboration feels like a natural continuation of that journey. Notably, PinkPantheress recent projects includes "Fancy That" and its remix companion "Fancy Some More?".

These recent projects also leaned heavily into the UK garage and jungle-influenced sounds that further reinforce her role in the ongoing evolution of the genre.

Cole's career includes producing for artists like Dizzee Rascal and Katy B, as well as remixing giants such as Amy Winehouse and Alicia Keys. This Sincere remix marks yet another chapter in a long and influential career which his work has helped define as a melodic, musical wing of UK garage that still resonates today.

Both MJ Cole and PinkPantheress online fans have already begun sharing their excitement, and flooding their social media feeds with clips and reactions to the new track ahead of conversations around its chart potential. While it’s early days, the blend of nostalgic weight and fresh energy in Still Sincere suggests it could become another defining moment for UK garage in 2026.
